Summed up 

1. Darth Sidious / Emperor Palpatine / and his master tried using the midichlorians to create a perfect Sith to kill  all the Jedi 

2. The force didn't like that 

3. So it used the midichlorians to created Anakin to kill all the Sith instead (which he eventually did )

Lesson learned here . Don't mess with the force or it will wipe out your whole order .

I think there was a deleted scene from 'A New Hope' where Obi-wan was chiding his pupil for eating everything with spoons.  He admonished him to, 'Use the forks, Luke.'
