If it was only about a dispute of facts, it is an exercise in futility. So you/I win...so what? If it however true that there is a hereafter , it will have a dramatic effect. The question is then possibly on what basis should I believe one source over another if they all claim to represent "the truth". For starters from a Christian perspective, I would consider the supernatural nature of prophecies that have been fulfilled. I would also consider the fact that Jesus rose from the dead and claimed to be God. Now either Jesus was an outright liar or a madman (which are both refuted by people outside the Christian faith, and witnesses are claimed), or one should give some serious consideration to what He said.
Only the through worshipping the Yoga Lord can you truly reach salvation in the afterlife, my friend.
Apart from this, what is your opinion on the "emergent" church versus the more traditional, conservative churches of for instance the Puritans? Would you visit a church because of the music that it good and people have lots of fun, or would you visit a church where the music is not so hot, even boring for a person used to the beat of rock etc but there is love and respect - irrespective of whether you are a Christian or not, whether you are a homosexual or not, whether you are a known criminal or not?
