Correct me if mistaken, but I didn't see you try to elaborate on your own personal experience(s) with God/Jesus.
I don't really care about scientific evidence here, or even evidence in general. You're never going to be able to provide me that via your own subjective experience, but I would've loved to see you describe in details what convinces you you're in touch with a grand higher power entity that is beyond your imagination.
You keep wanting me to come out with some bizarre, exciting experience I've had with God. Really, it has just come from a continuing study of many faiths and much debate and discussion with people like yourself, then realizing that the only way I would know God is to allow him to reveal himself to me. I figured that if God was real, and I sincerely sought him, then he would reveal himself to me. One night as I was agonizing over the guilt about leaving christianity and the inability to abandon the beliefs I had come to, I was suddenly filled with a feeling of peace and joy and heard the words: "Everything is going to be okay."
Since then, I've just focused on God to keep me on the path to him, whichever direction that takes me. I pray daily for him to continue to reveal himself to me and I love to study various religions and beliefs. I have seen that we can't quantify God and all true religions are built on traditions and myths that have developed over time as they sought to understand the understandable. But God's relationship is obtained in the same way by all. That is by going to him in whatever way we do and allowing him to come to us in his way. The important thing is that we are seeking him.
I never would recommend someone leaving their faith. This is what I believe and this is the path I've taken. Of course, I could be wrong, and the worst thing I could do is cause someone else to draw away from God. Don't rely on human opinions for the ultimate answer. We all need to keep our focus on God for guidance as we live our lives.
