I like the concept of personal responsibility that many Republicans espouse. However, they seem to pursue this idea to a fault, often ignoring scientific evidence in the hopes of telling everyone that they just need to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and get to work. It's a great idea, in theory, and we can all take steps to to better ourselves and the parts of our lives that we feel are lacking, but plenty of people really cannot get ahead, no matter how hard they try, because of how the odds are stacked against them. That being said, there are also plenty of people who simply refuse to get their shit together... so there's that.
I also support the 2nd amendment - I'm a gun owner and believe that gun ownership is a right in the United States, not a privilege... though I also believe in gun control. Yes, it's possible to believe in both.
Outside of that, I'm probably left on almost any issue you can think of.
I dislike how distrusting Republicans are, and I dislike how cynical Democrats are. If I could influence a large amount of people, I certainly wouldn't be convincing them to vote Democrat or Republican. The two-party system needs to go. It's archaic and counterproductive.
What's wrong with the current government in the US? Hell... how much time do you got?
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
