I may have found a way out of your ethical dilemma.
Have you ever been to a zoo? Not a nature preserve or a wildlife sanctuary, but an actual zoo? A lot of them are pretty horrible. Animals in steel cages with concrete floors, nothing approaching their natural habitat, horrible food, and poor sanitation.
So - why not bring your gun to the zoo and kill a few of those animals? A fair number of them are clearly suffering both physical and mental anguish and it seems you'd be doing them a favour.
I think this idea has merit. You would end the suffering of these poor creatures and wouldn't have to worry about environmental impact. Give it some serious thought.

Animals in the Zoo ultimately live better lives than animals in the wild because they get euthanasia.
But I guess I'll have to, being in the UK, come with no gun to the zoo and choke the f*cking giraffe to death with my one arm. Thanks.
