Pay people minimum wage, expect minimum wage effort. I always find it hilarious when managers or workers who've stayed at a job for 20+ years are surprised when the 19 year old kid making ten bucks an hour isn't fighting harder to keep their job. It's because you're paying them shit and they have no reason to give a fuck. That kid, in five years, will have a job making three times as much as they are now for probably having to work half as hard, sitting at a desk somewhere.
