I got internetz now, my mom was kind enough to bring my laptop awhile ago. I was using my phone, but the battery died pretty quick.
It turns out the pulmonary embolism is quite large and is putting pressure on my heart - and I've got a deep vein thrombosis in my leg as well (presumably where the clotting in my lungs came from). Last night they installed a filter in my inferior vena cava to prevent loose clots from reaching my brain and heart, and I've been on anti-coagulants -for about 24 hours.
I won't be discharged for a couple of days at a minimum.
Apparently I dodged a very large bullet yesterday.
The good news is that I'm improving, and I can actually get up and move around a bit, which I could not do yesterday. I literally almost did not make it to the ER door. It would have been kind of embarrassing to die ten feet from the ER.
P.S. I appreciate all the kind words.
