I was eight years celibate and painfully single. I had had a couple of girlfriends but the last one, before my long dry spell, was such a mind fuck I had a psychotic break.
I never thought women owed me sex or anything but I was a pretty classic "nice guy" and realized that there was something missing within myself, namely confidence, and the ability to talk to a women without a cloud of discomfort.
I figured things out on the dance floor, namely Lindy Hop. Those brief chats taught me a lot about myself and demystified women. I'm now extremely comfortable around women and have been married for over 8 years to a wonderful women I met at a party related to swing dancers.
