I live in a city called Bendigo which is 150km North-West of Melbourne. It was founded in the Gold Rush and was in the late 19th century one of the biggest cities in Australia with 40,000 people (It has now over 100,000 people). So there are a lot of Victorian buildings particularly in the central business district.

One of it's landmarks is a huge Roman Catholic cathedral called Sacred Heart. As I have said on the chat-room Bendigo is quite a Catholic town to the extent the church has it's own magazine which comes out regularly.

Apart from seeing the victorian buildings and riding a tram line.

The only other thing which is interesting to do in Bendigo is tour a old gold mine, which is called the Central Deborah Mine.

Although every easter they have a parade in the centre of town, where a Chinese Dragon is paraded. Bendigo since it is a gold rush town has had a Chinese community living here since that time.
