"Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. Where you can see that Koran tells husbands to beat their wives if they are disobedient.

And if we look what Koranic scholars say about it, like Syed Mahmud Allusi in the commentaries: "if she refuses to beautify herself for him," if she refuses sex when he asks for it, if she refuses to pray or perform ritual ablutions, and "if she goes out of the house without a valid excuse."
