Just out of curiosity did you look into stairlifts at all? Or were they not viable?

Eitherway I hope you're getting around easier.

Stairlifts were out because you can't use them to carry laundry or grocery bags. The Pneumatic elevator I chose was just right because it fit the existing stairways with minimum alterations to the building and it has a carrying capacity of 450 lbs. I can now move easily from the cellar to the basement, carrying all sorts of stuff. If not for this innovation, I would probably be planning to sell my home and move into an assisted living complex.
