Who did he rob? He merely questioned religion, and offended people.
Pretend for a minute that you consider your faith to be a certainty, and that only people who have faith go to heaven, and all others burn in hell for eternity.
An atheist who tries to convince others that faith is incorrect is committing a huge crime. They may be causing someone's faith to stumble, damning them to hell.
Plus, God creates natural disasters for societies that "turn away" from Him (He's a real ass-hole that way).
