GS's logic is pretty clear. If rules are imposed on a woman for no other reason than that she's a woman, her murder for breaking those rules would be femicide. I don't know how you can't get that.

Serial killer are motivated mainly by their mental problems. A serial killer can also choose children or homosexuals as his objectives. Women would be just an specific group.
The same can happen to men regarding the rules part. Soviet soldiers were killed if they tried to scape in WW2. How is it any different? Do we have a specific word for it?

Obviously, not all serial killers prey on women. But the ones who do are committing femicide. Their motivation(s) for doing so are beside the point - they’re choosing particular victims because those victims are women. Which is the definition of femicide.
