So many I could choose from! I think one of the best for me was Steptoe and Son, exported to the US as Sanford and Son. The whole series was a goldmine of comedy, a showcase of Galton and Simpson's genius. The basic scenario is the story of two rag and bone men, who can barely stand each other's company but can't do much about it as they are father and son. Harold, the son, sees himself as an intellectual man of the world type, constantly trying to better himself but forever failing due to his duties to his father Albert, who is just a "dirty old man" and proud of it.
In this clip from the episode "Divided We Stand", Harold has finally had enough of having no privacy and spends all his savings to build a "Berlin Wall" right through the middle of the house. He quickly finds out his plan is not without its problems:

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
