I don't look at saving Trump in terms of religion. I sincerely hope the doctors are simply sticking to their oath, regardless if they like him or not.
I am thinking long term in society in general, inside and outside politics or religion. We are atheists. I don't think we would want a doctor to go, "Let the atheist die" because they don't like us.
I fucking hate Trump. I won't lie and say I wouldn't feel a sense of relief if he were to die, I would. But this isn't about one person. I don't want to live in a society where doctors, or police or military, get to decide whom they do or don't protect.
I look at that orange fuckface like Frank Burns from MASH, on meth. Often Frank would vilify innocent people, and condemn Hawkeye and Trapper for giving care to the captured.
You don't value Trump's health as a doctor, because you like him as an individual. You value the long term concept of neutrality in the concept of what you would want for yourself if you were in the same position.
I also don't want the fucker to die in office, because of all the bullshit "deep state" conspiracy terrorists that would crop up.
I want the doctors to do their job, because they are doctors, the same way we give medical aid to people in prison. Because I don't want to live in a vigilante society.
Do I care that the individual named Trump dies, no. But I do care about the long term, and what kind of society we live in. The office of the President, is a concept. And if we value peaceful transfer of power, we cant afford to fuel conspiracy bullshit. Trump, even if he had not contracted the virus, is already seeding the conspiracies that if he doesn't win, he want's the "Proud Boys" to "Stand by".
I want that fucker to live, so there is less of a question when he loses. If he dies now, the shit will hit the fan. But just as a separate issue, even outside that office or politics, I don't want doctors choosing whom they treat based on politics or religion.
