I agree with you that there is far too much cruelty in the world. Human beings are capable of enormous cruelty, and very skillful at justifying why it's OK.
Fortunately Christianity, like all other groups, can change over time. Not as fast as we'd like, I'm sure. But there are Christians who oppose the way that our world runs on cruelty, among people and towards animals as well.
It's a painful process. We see that in the US, opposition to institutional cruelty against black people draws out a cruel response from others.
I don't know what you mean by "shipbuilder." Is this a person or movement that we should know about? Is it a translation of a name in your language? I'm curious.
