Anyone who wants to be in charge does so for the reason that they want to control other people.

I simply don't trust that kind of person.

You may do so at your own peril.

Or they want to be in charge because legitimately think they can help people in a leadership role

The problem with that it's way too easy for bosses to disparage leaders ability to lead, while at the same time for it being difficult to distinguish bosses from leaders. In any case, it's better to be self-reliant, independent and work in voluntary cooperation, IMO.
