Any idea how it came loose?
I used to have trouble with the scope of my Ruger k10/22t sliding off the dovetail. I'd laughingly say that it was from recoil, but the thing weighs 9 pounds, as configured. Maybe less, because I have a Hogue over-molded thumbhole stock to replace the laminated wood stock. I put a Picatinny rail on it to fix that. I'd be shooting 9s and 10s, and then I'd see the groups scatter. Take out the screwdriver, remount, sight in again. Seems like the elastomeric bolt stop pin I'm using now also helped.

If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
