The assassination is an obvious attempt from Trump to start a war that keeps him stuck to the presidency.
Israel is Trump's best ally in the region, and we saw the amounts of services he did to Zionism and Israel in his presidency.
Trump wants to start a war because that's the only scenario that can keep him in the White House.
He didn't drag nobody into this; the whole world knows that Trump wanted to start a war with Iran in collaboration with Israel + Saudi Arabia.
They're trying to drag Iran into a war; along with the whole region.
Turkey, Pakistan, Iran. That's a trinity to scare the shit out of the existence of zionism as a whole. If a war started in the Middle East, it will include all these countries. Iran is the strategic place to strike.

Israel has routinely assassinated Iranian scientists for quite a while now. They did it during Obama's time, also, and he rewarded them handsomely.
This despite the fact that Iran cooperates with the IAEA and has shown that it hasn't had a nuclear weapons program for a long time.
I think you're right that the timing of this latest murder has to do with Trump's limited time remaining. Israel has been threatening this particular scientist for years, but decided to kill him right now. Whether they're trying to provoke an attack, or just send a message to Biden, setting the stage for the new administration, isn't certain. Either way the outcome is what they want.
