But sports is live. Recording it doesn't change the outcome after the live event is over. Some people can and do watch a post game game and can get lost in it. I am not one of those people. If the game is already over, I simply watch the news for highlights. But if I want to watch a particular game, I want to watch it live as it happens, not watch it like a movie.

Sorry, but I’m still having trouble seeing the difference. If you can re-watch a film when you already know the outcome, why can’t you watch a sporting event when you already know the outcome? We all know Hans Gruber plummets to his death from Nakatomi Tower - do you only watch highlights of ‘Die Hard’?
