A black bear - a 45 Colt will likely drop it in a shot or two....
A big brown - a griz or Kodiak - you would just piss it off....
If you see a bear, climb a tree to get away from it. If it climbs up the tree to kill you, it’s a black bear. If it pushes the tree down to kill you, it’s a grizzly bear. If there are no trees to climb, it’s probably a polar bear.
