When my son was quite young we lived across the street from a family of hunters.  He wanted to know why the Browns didn't just go to Winn-Dixie like we did.  Teaching moment presented.

I can understand that sort of thinking when it comes from a child. When it clearly comes from an adult who is old enough and experienced enough to contact a newspaper column, it's more than a little disheartening.
