Who's your favorite serial killer?

I have to admit, I'm not particularly familiar with true crime and I probably only know the names of the famous ones who have been mentioned in the U.S. during my lifetime. Also, I'm uncertain I have a favorite, but do you?

Jeffrey Dahmer because I can relate to his family dynamic.

I am a true crime junkie and have been for many years. I wouldn't say I have a favorite serial killer. There are a whole group whose stories have been told way too many times, IMO. Dahmer being one of them.

If I was pressed to pick one, it would be Ed Gein. That's one twisted story. His life inspired, in part, characters in 'Silence of the Lambs' and other creepy characters in other movies.

Peter Kurten

Mainly because he was the first serial killer to undergo psychiatric examination.

define serial killer.

does Vasily Blokhin count?

He was the chief executioner of NKVD, the predecessor of KGB, during stalin’s purges and WWII.  He is estimated to have personally shot 35,000 people, individually, execution style, with a small caliber pistol over a period of about 15 years.

during one 30 day period, he shot 7,000 people with a pistol.   even though he preferred small caliber pistols for reduced recoil, he still suffered repetitive stress injury to his wrist from 7000 pistol kicks in just a month.   it was an occupational hazard.

his effort was so prodigious, that he was given the hero of socialist labor award, which was Soviet union’s highest civilian award.

My youngest son can mow down a large bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios in a very short time. I can't even stomach those things!

Most importantly, what's their current league standing? I'm meeting my bookie in an hour, I need some dope.

Gilles de Rais, compatriot of Jehanne la Pucelle and child mass murderer. Before his hanging and subsequent immolation (for which his body was spared, but not those of his co-conspirators), he gave an hour-long speech to the assembled crowd from the gallows on Catholic virtues and living the moral life.

As one Psychoville fan to another, I have to admit my favorite is probably Ted Kaczynski, if only because of the fact that his early life bears an alarming resemblance to mine (autistic kid with a high IQ who lives in the North Shore suburbs of Chicago getting psychologically broken down over years by bullying that the school was A-OK with.) I’m not going to lie, it reached the point that when I watched Manhunt: Unabomber and saw a scene where he was plunking tunelessly on a thumb piano, I decided I needed one of my own, if for no other reason than to remind myself that I at least had something up on him: I could at least play some music. At least Last Podcast on the Left’s portrayal of him was less relatable than I’m used to.

As for something that isn’t terrifyingly relatable to the Reverend, here’s a hint.
