You can't make a list of "the things all people need."
Needs are conditional. Dependent on circumstances. I say, if someone feels like they need God (or the illusion of God or whatever) let them.
Atheism, to me, is a personal rejection of belief in God. If others find meaning for their lives in whatever religion, great. I personally find meaningfulness elsewhere. And in things more verifiable.
