Your country is already awash in firearms. Restricting sales isn’t going to stop mass shootings. It isn’t even going to slow them significantly.

Way to twist my words. Certainly say someone who has autism or is schizophrenic who gets violent should not be treated the same as someone who does not have those maladies, should not be treated the same. When I say "I don't care if someone is mentally ill" I am not arguing I don't care about the mentally ill. I am arguing that all others should not be allowed to hide behind those arguments.
You said, ‘I wouldn’t care if he was mentally ill.’ I replied by saying that better diagnosis and treatment of the mentally ill might be one possible way to impact the number of mass shootings.
I didn’t accuse you of not caring about people with mental health issues, and I certainly didn’t twist your words or take them out of context. What I did was to point out that focusing on the relative ease-of-purchase of firearms in the US and not caring (your words) about other facets of the issue isn’t going to help.
