As for your example above - Christianity is a religion, a set of beliefs. Christians are people.

Is English your native language? 'To believe in something' means that you believe it exists, not whether or not other people share the belief. I don't believe in QAnon, which is a quasi-religion that posits that the US government is controlled by child molesting Satanists and that Trump and his madhi-esque agent, Q, are working behind the scenes to expose and destroy them. I don't think Q exists, and I think the 4chan posts claiming to be from 'QAnon' that started the whole thing were fraudulent, and that Q is a fictional character. The only belief I share with the QAnoners is the belief that politicians are controlled through blackmail, though I am sure the methods and motivations are far more mundane and bland than the QAnoners imagine.
