I wish officials and reporters would stop saying shit like that. Firearm violence happens everywhere because guns are everywhere. Mass shootings are simply one category of firearm violence, but that doesn't make a single firearm murder, or a single suicide any less dead.
I live in a rural county, but even here I hear about firearm violence in my county on a weekly bases, even if it isn't a "mass shooting". Just last week in the next county over from me 3 people ended up dead over a shootout at a house party.

There is lots of medical evidence that concussions can lead to more agressive behavior, and or depression. Jr Seau committed suicide, and medical experts point to his carreer and concussions.
