He says they all either have citizenship or have a right to it. And that phrasing implies that there are Jews who currently do not have Jewish citizenship. Also, my therapist is Jewish and she's not an Israeli citizen. At least, I don't think she has Israeli citizenship; the furthest I remember her going from Northbrook in the nine years we've known each other is Puerto Vallarta, and that's in Mexico. And, frankly, after all this horseshit that just went down, she probably wouldn't want it. Indeed, looking at the law, it seems that a Jew claiming Israeli citizenship is still contingent on them actually claiming it.

Hell, this could just be the dude who's been steeped in British movies and TV since birth talking, but that accent's clearly Irish and not Scottish. He even sounds quite a bit like Ardal O'Hanlon:

having a right to citizenship is close enough. extending this right to EVERY jew, the argument is really over. because no jew, active citizen or not, is free from persecution. whether resident of the jewish state or not they at any point in any country can be targeted simply because they have ties/can be considered israeli, by the enemy's of the jewish state. look at what is going on in NYC. american citizens being attacked in the place of business for simply being jew by religious affiliation. and yet are being attacked for their ties to their home land.

you might be able to draw distinctions for the sake of argument but in practical and typical racist actions these people are treated with the same contempt if for religious reason or matters of the state, and done so interchangeably (persecute the religious for matters of the state persecute the citizen for matters of the religion.) for as long as they have been a collective people.

So what you say or pretend to separate is not how the evil of this world sees them and works against them.

so any ties to land are neglible as those alive today were children then. 

The bottom line palestinian land was not taken by the americans or the jews. they lost their land in 1517 to the ottomans and the ottoman empire. before then they occupied the east bank of the jordan river just like they do now. then in 1517 they lost their lands to the ottomans who kept their land and israel till after WWI in 1918! where it fell under british rule as a colony! so again no lands unlike the ignorant scotsman claimed. So from 18 to 1948 these were british held lands and governed by british authority. who allowed both arabs and jews to live there side by side. which triggered several disputes till the end of WWII when it was officially decided to redivide the land as it was before the ottomans took over in 1517 giving the jews the land west of the river jordan to the sea of galilee and the palestinians the lands tot he east.

History aside, the state of things in Isreal in the present day is one of apartheid, and there is no coherent argument that it isn’t.

The man in the video is Irish, not Scottish. What he is referring to is ‘the right of return’. It sounds good in theory (and is actually a different animal than citizenship), but the Israelis don’t apply it evenly (re: Uganda). What he is arguing is that Israeli Muslims are treated as second-class citizens, the very definition of apartheid.

my gut reaction is to say so what.. If muslims living in a primarily jewish state don't like it they are free to move across the river to a primarily muslim state. they do not live in america.. they are not entitled to the same rights and freedoms we are. our constitution does not protect them, nor should they have a claim to our rules and way of life if they are not a citizen living in a state... 

I say that because that is exactly the same sentiment that exists on the east bank of the jordan river in palestine concerning the jews. Except in palestine.. there are active gangs who seek out the jews to beat murder and roust them out of their land. where is your concern for apartheid for the jews who held lands in what is now palestine that have been seized by that government and reallocated to muslims? 

why is justice always one sided with you guys? why do you only see muslim suffering? wrongs done to muslims? as i pointed out in 1948 both muslims and jews lived in this region well mixed under british rule. meaning jews lived on the west bank as well as the eastern bank of the jordan. then the jews were given the western side and the muslims the easterside just like it was before the ottomans took over. this means people on both sides were rousted out of their homes, and forced out of a country because they were of the wrong religion.

The only difference was the muslims took an aggressive path to exile all jews while the jews allowed muslims to stay so long as they worked with in the frame work of the jewish state.

So again which is the greater evil? what the muslims have done with the jews ousting them out of their family homes if on the wrong side of the jordan or what the jews are doing by allowing muslims to live in a jewish state?
