Robo call, or at least he thought it was.

Robo call, or at least he thought it was.
A little backstory. Our resident Redneck known as "Hillbilly Atheist" long ago divulged his obsession for "Coke Zero". And boy do I mean he really loves it. Even in Australia out in the boonies in the bush, he'd ask for it, every place we stopped. But I knew this even long before that trip.

Years ago once, he posted pictures, and one was of what I though was a department store break room. Why? Because there was a hand truck with several cases of soda on it,  A HAND TRUCK. I thought it was a break room soda machine that was going to be filled. NO, no, no, It was his apartment kitchen. Like I said, he really loves Coke Zero. He's got the Charlton Heston attitude about Coke Zero, "Out of my cold dead hands."

So anywho, today, he was telling me in a voice chat that he was ordering more Coke Zero, several cases today.

So after I hang up with him, my cabby shows up to take me to the store. She knows me very well, and I also talk about HB all the time, so they know him by proxy. So I asked her to prank call him. My idea was the "intervention" motif, I wanted her to say something like, " John, we are really worried about you." But as luck and timing would have it, her idea ended up being better.

She called him up and talked like a robo call promoter, "This is ......(incert name here) from The Coke Zero Corporation, you have the opportunity to win a free case of Coke Zero" .

What she and I did not know, is on his end, in reality he had ordered Coke Zero from Walmart for home delivery, and they fucked up his order and brought him bottled water. He called to complain, and right after he hung up, he listened to her fake message promoting Coke Zero. Oh the timing. He was pissed, he was thinking, "How did Walmart know and why are they calling me about free Coke Zero." He had no clue the calls were not related.
