Indeed he is - blowing smoke up your ass.
Let's talk facts.
The "ghost gun" is one described as having no serial numbers making it "impossible to track".
Really. How are you going to "track" a gun by serial number?
.....
You cannot tell the guns I have by serial number. Some have serial numbers - some don't. But you have no way at all to "track" how many guns I have.
Stone fucking fact.
Here's what you don't know -- The Federal Government HAS NO LIST OF GUNS - OR WHO OWNS THEM. (Some states do have records of pistols - and Commiefornia requires registration of some rifles)
Fact. Period. end of statement.
"But... but... but... " You say - "They got the serial numbers when you bought the gun".
Nope. They didn't. FACT. When a 4474 is filled out - it is NOT given to the government. Ditto the NICS check. When they make a NICS check - they do NOT give the serial number - or even the make or model of the weapon. They only give "pistol or long gun".
And here's the kicker -- the records the gun shop make - the 4473 and the Bound Book Ledger (which lists all sales) is only kept for 20 years -- and then they are destroyed.
......
So exactly what does "Getting rid of Ghost Guns" do for you???
....
It gives you the illusion that the government "did something" about gun violence....
THE ONLY way to track a gun - is to take it off a perpetrator and go to the manufacturer - and find out what FFL dealer it was sold to -- then you can go get to that dealer (if it was less than 20 years ago) and see who the gun was first sold to. But then - who gives a shit? YOU ALREADY HAVE THE PERP....
Conclusion -- this legislation is a solution in search of a problem.
^^^^^^^ Distract and deflect.
How does any of what you just typed have to do with the volumes of firearms sold and the volume of firearm deaths per year?
If more firearms meant less violence then why are we #1 among western allies in firearm deaths?
