That cross is useful for one thing: beguiling,
It amuses me, and gets me smiling,
But I hate it when I hear you whining,
About how your creator is always shining.
You say you've seen the one true way,
As you, everyday, pray and pray,
Hoping that they will be answered one day,
But will they? - Oh, nay, nay, nay.
What about Atlas, Thor, Venus and Zeus?
As Time progressed, they put on the noose,
So please explain why you are so obtuse,
And why you can't just call a truce!
So, I am not converting, for I wish to be sane,
And travel down the beautiful lane,
And I know my vision will thus wane,
If I convert, but the conversion I will have to feign.
"Look at the birds, the ants, and the trees,
The daffodils, and the honey bees!
Look at the rolling winter silver seas!
And you say there is no God!...Oh please!"
You say that about the things upon the Earth;
You've been taught it from your own very birth...
Looking at the bliss, wonder and endless mirth,
But the evils you speak of are in palpable dearth!
There, that's what I've got so far. I've got way too much time on my hands.
It amuses me, and gets me smiling,
But I hate it when I hear you whining,
About how your creator is always shining.
You say you've seen the one true way,
As you, everyday, pray and pray,
Hoping that they will be answered one day,
