We had a saying in the Navy- "One to drink, one to spill, and one for the Shore Patrol". Translated- a guy who has little experience with alcohol has a drink. He gets woozy, and spills the next one. If the Shore Patrol is lucky, he's just buzzed (maudlin) enough to offer his new best friends the third drink. We used to go scrape up drunks from the local bars all the time. I didn't get scraped up after that one fight because I wasn't drunk, and managed to get away, until identified later. Celebrating making second class petty officer...for ten days.  Clap
