Texas School District Tries To Legitimize Holocaust Denial

A school district superintendent in North Texas apologized Thursday night after one of the district's administrators told teachers that if they have books about the Holocaust in their classroom libraries, then they should also include books that have "opposing" views of the Holocaust.

Listening to the audio, I'm not 100% sure that the administrator was actually endorsing the idea that people should teach the controversy about the Holocaust; it could be that she's saying "this is what the law says, like it or not." The way she's saying it, that interpretation could be plausible.



Either way, I'm convinced that results like this are exactly what you should expect when the law decides it's going to let far-right ideologies control what teachers teach, especially when the right is moving so far to the right that Twitter doesn't ban Nazis because their views are too similar to what mainstream conservatives profess.
