I'm one of those people whose family used the cover of marginal or nominal native ancestry to cover up far more domestic indiscretions. The culmination of an explicitly and intentionally ethnicized breeding program, ruined the moment I chose my first wife on the basis of local availability. Only partially redeemed when I selected a polish girl for my second wife and gave all our children suitably ginger names.
