In what she was speaking of, you have to take her word for it that the U.S. is more nuts than North Korea. Because she was actually there. Next, from much experience I already know that I would be banned before I got very far in telling you in what isn't allowed to be said here in the U.S. This forum and any other are part of the U.S. aren't they? (And certainly in one way or another run by the government) Forums are places where people communicate with each other aren't they? Anyplace where Americans communicate with each other is where freedom of speech should apply. But it appears that technology has trumped the basic human right of freedom of speech.
Sure, I might be able to stand out on a street corner and speak the truth. But no doubt I would end up getting attacked, possibly killed, by one of the brainwashed minions of our government. I have no power. The media has all the power. In taking on freedom of speech in that regard would be suicidal. People should have a right to kill themselves. But I reject freedom of being assaulted and possibly murdered. Even our government isn't above murdering people. Just like the Mafia might do.
Most of the forum rules are reasonable, or at least started out that way. There are bots and spammers who show up here who try to sell car insurance, or who try to sell their religion in the same way that one sells car insurance. Through annoying blasts of advertising.
I agree with what you said earlier, about the government and the corporate media being in lock step because they are in fact the same. Their propaganda and their control of speech is extremely effective. Recently YouTube and Twitter have been taking people off line if they dare to question the current party line on Ukraine. (Putin is Hitler, the US did nothing wrong, don't pay attention to all the Nazis in Ukraine because we love them now.)
There are also unwritten rules on this forum about how one behaves oneself. Personal insults are only OK when directed at certain types of people. You could get along here if you want, and make the political points that you want, if you frame them according to these unwritten rules. It's more about how you present yourself than the content of what you say.
It has often seemed to me that a lot of people here are very full of anger and frustration, and when a new person shows up who doesn't fit the approved forum mould, this person gives them license to vent the rage they've been storing up. So at the moment, you're it.
But there is a lot in the world to be angry and frustrated about, so I suppose we all deal with that in different ways.
