Or is cancer one of the senseless purposeless things?

Quote:Ultimately Job's faith was made stronger, not weaker, by the suffering poured out upon him. And would if one man's suffering could inspire 10,000 more to lead a more virtuous life as a result? Job is a book which separates the wheat from the chaff, those who just want rewards for doing the right thing might not make it through tribulation if they believe in a simple God who always punishes evil right away, and always rewards good here on earth. Sometimes we have to wait longer than we would like for God's justice to shine.IDK about that, just on grounds of the narrative, Job went into it with a maximal faith. That was sort of the reason for the bet between the two gods. I do agree that stories like this can separate the wheat from the chaff - but probably not in the way you imagine. As nomad comes directly to up above.
How long will job have to wait for justice? The story ends and we never see it...though I'd suggest that waiting for justice from a being that cosigned the death of your family and your own physical agony to prove a thing to a coworker might be foolish.
