I have some misgivings about he death penalty except in the cases where there is no doubt the person committed the murder(s).

As for if the death penalty will stop others from committing murder...who knows...but it will stop the person executed from murdering anyone else.

People tend not to learn from the behavior of others.  If they did, the prisons wouldn't be full to overflowing.

Of course, if we didn’t lock people up for minor drug offenses, they also wouldn’t be full to overflowing.
