Yet another thing not all atheists agree on. It's a shame that nutbars want to constantly hassle you, for example, with my position...a shame, and wasted effort. Not that their efforts would be more productive if they did take that up directly with me or people like me - which might explain why they contain themselves to people they interpret to be undecided- as if a person would just fall into their religion..like gravity, should they come to believe that a god does exist.
The fullest (or traditional, I guess?) expression of religion surrounds what we think is true - not the set of things that we think can't be proven false. I think this avenue of debate is one expression of the change in contemporary religion that witchdoctors are always complaining about when they swirl the drain of nominal christianity in their own flocks. The general idea is that..sure..there's an element of faith to confidence in gods plan - but that it's existence is (or should be conceived of as) provable - and demonstrably proven. The trouble here is that provable things are, by default, disprovable. The mistake..at least on their part and some good number of their critics, is believing that their claims to normative principles - what their religions actually are - are somehow damaged or invalidated in the event that their conceptually provable god is proven false.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
