I said that I don't think that incarcerated felons should be able to vote. They haven't lived up to their side of the social contract, and they shouldn't expect the privileges that it confers, in particular the power to participate in a decision that affects the well-being of others-- for whom those criminals have already shown little regard.
It's others who said, "Well, that's racist, because so many prisoners are black." I'm just paraphrasing that.
Unlike others here, I hold black people in high enough regard that I expect them to fulfill their side of the social contract. And almost all of them do. The ones who don't-- those who are drug dealers, pimps or gang-bangers-- I don't consider in any higher regard than I would anyone else who'd commited serious crimes.
