Because you cited a verse which stated that two people would die if they ate from the Tree as a basis for human immortality. You then stated that ‘die’ doesn’t really mean ‘die’ at all. This means human mortality wasn’t affected by eating the fruit. QED.

I stated that 'death' meant 'separation', were discussing theology here, there is a natural definition for death, and there is a spiritual definition for death
"But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth" - 1 Timothy 5:6

I would say that their natural mortality had more to do with being expelled from the garden where they had access to the tree of life.
