You should not be trying to get anyone to do anything. Furthermore, "atheists" don't claim to be anything. Each atheist can only speak for his or herself.

I said it's good he's a Christian. In fact, I said "Thank God" he's a Christian. The kids need that perspective. Otherwise, all they have is the perspective of someone who's an atheist and chooses to be a stripper.

And the fact that you insinuate that the latter is wrong, thus insulting alei, puts my vote at "Yes, you are being a dick."

It's also why you are a Christian. The idea of an eternity of nothing is extra comforting when people like you say stuff like that. What you're getting is worse than hell. You are going to have a moment of, "Wait, this isn't supposed to happen like this." and then, nothing will ever happen again.
