Misquoting is against the rules.

I was aware that misquoting was against the rules. Are you telling me that posting a truncated a sentence from someone else, and saying I don't understand this "part" is considering misquoting/plagiarism here? If so, I think I might be in the wrong place.

If you 'quote' someone and make a change to that 'quote' you need to note that you have alterred it.

It's that simple.

You seem quite up on the rules as that's one that people usually don't run afoul of.
