Nah, there are plenty of us - it's not the lack of a pool of talent...thinking as much is just an excuse for making bad decisions in spite of there being good ones we could make.

Pool of talent means nothing if the pool of anti-talent is just as large and less circumscribe in asserting itself.    A consistent trend in American political demography from the mid 1960s had been one of the growth of anti-talent at the expense of talent. 

But Talent from outside the pool often brings a fresh perspective of the practical strengths and weaknesses of the system obscured from those immersed in the pool from birth.
