I wonder why they'd make such an obvious misrepresentation regarding something of such wide public knowledge. I also wonder why you don't seem to vet your own sources very stringently.
Barr explained it in his own words when asked the same question. History is written by the victor. They'll keep saying it and one day, if they're lucky, no one will be around to say otherwise. Then it becomes the settled history that the nuts are already asserting it to be.
