Jesus in the bible expressed big disgust towards chrisitans who are passive/apathetic/lukewarm(Revelation 3:15-16 ESV "I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.)

But at the same time God made hell and a world with cancer, natural disasters and other tragic stuff. Its like God provokes cynical attitude towards himself and yet expects that people to not develop it.
