In your opinion what causes christians to believe in Jesus

despite not being able to proof that he existed for starters
And in your opinion why some of them assume that their type of relationship (its even questionable if it is their or they just obedient sub - u know usual one is sex only in marriage) is the correct one and how their view on what`s virtue vs vice is the right and universal/inherent one?

I suspect that it all boils down to the fear of death. They can't face the idea that one day they will simply not exist. It also helps that they are trained never to ask questions and just accept what they are told by the cult leaders.

I'm curious why you'd ask atheists rather than asking Christians. We aren't exactly the believing in jebus type, so any answer that we're likely to give is going to be a whole lot of assumption and projection.
That said, I'd suspect that there are a variety of reasons. Cultural exposure appears to be one of the main driving forces. Lotsa Christians in the Deep South, not so many in Nepal.

Christians believe in Jesus for the same reason some people worship cow's asshole: because they haven't thought things through, and they haven't thought things through because they are forbidden from thinking rationally about Jesus. They are allowed to think about him, but only in the form of a praise.

They're brainwashed during childhood.

I was partially under their spell in my youth, wasn't hurting me and made my parents happy. At around 13yo it became unacceptable and my parents happiness became less important.
