Quote:Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett ® said there’s no way to “fix” gun violence, after a shooter killed three children and three adults at an elementary school in his home state on Monday.
“It’s a horrible, horrible situation,” Burchett told reporters. “And we’re not gonna fix it. Criminals are gonna be criminals.”
So, fun fact, you know how many According-to-Hoyle mass murders [note: the official definition of a mass murder involves four dead in one incident] there've been in the UK since I was born? Four. And after one of them, the UK got its ass in gear. They banned handguns altogether (the other three were done with shotguns), and they even did a nationwide gun buyback programme to compensate pre-existing handgun owners. Meanwhile, in America? You know how far back I have to go to find four according-to-Hoyle mass murders in America? 16 days.
It's really a testament to how off the grid American conservatism is that Piers Morgan, of all people, can come across as legitimately based on this issue:
Clearly, it’s unfixable. Except by, you know, every other developed country in the world.
