Claiming that the catholic church abolished slavery, while the bible clearly endorses it, that was rich, very rich.
Portraying the catholic church as being persecuted, while it literally persecuted even entire other christian denominations (!), while it had a dedicated organisation to persecute "heretics", that was just as rich.
The catholic church and science? Well, it took 400 years to rehabilitate Galilei.
The catholic church and advancement of society? Well, the Pope still is against any method of contraception.
