The Byzantine Empire  was just as expansionistic and ruthless as the Turks in fact their weakened state was due to the frequent warmongering they had engaged in the previous decades. Also, the Crusaders were ironically from armies and nations that had previously ravaged Byzantine Empire. The Crusaders didn't give a damn about the Western Christian Countries they just saw another opportunity for plunder and to do the only employable skill they had...Bloodshed And the church were more than happy to help with the doctrine of indulgences which fattened their coffers. I'm not a fan of Luther but he was right calling that out.
Op is so ignorant, it hurts (much like death, stupidity only hurts the others).

The crusaders never came to help the Byzantines. They came to take back Jerusalem for catholicism, fueld by christian propaganda. Every schoolboy knows, but not Xavier.
The Byzantine emperor had to make them swear oaths to give back re-conquered land to the Byzantines. Which they didnt. Every schoolboy knows, but not Xavier.
Thats why they founded the county of Edessa, Kingdom of Jerusalem, and Principality of Antioch, none of them being byzantine. Every schoolboy knows, but not Xavier.
Under Muslim rule christian pilgrims were allowed to visit holy sites. When the crusaders conquered Jerusalem they....how do i put it.....massacred everyone, indiscriminately, including eastern christians. Every schoolboy knows, but not Xavier.

The crusaders, supported by the catholic church ruined the Byzantine empire in 1204, not the Ottomans. The Ottomans just delivered the coup the grace, 250 years later. Every schoolboy knows, but not Xavier.
If the crusaders didnt ruin the Byzantine empire, the Balkans probably wouldnt be partially muslim today. Every schoolboy knows, but not Xavier.

I know i have asked this numerous times, but: What drives all these idiots, coming here and humiliating themselves so publicly? Is this some kind of kink?
