The CEO of the company who built the submersible was on board. He is on record of having said: "At some point safety is just a waste. If you wanna be safe, dont get up in the morning". Good riddance.

He could have added, 'If you wanna be safe, don't ride in my submersible.'

You kid, but that’s exactly what he did. According to a former passenger, just to get on the boat that monitors the Titan, you had to sign a massive waiver, one that lists all the many ways you could die on the voyage, and even mentions death three times on the first page alone, even mentioning that it was  an "experimental" vessel "that has not been approved or certified by any regulatory body, and could result in physical injury, disability, emotional trauma or death".
